A letter to my client,
I don’t often say what I am really thinking as you come into my office. Sometimes I wish I could just say all of it out loud but I am not sure it will be received in the way it is meant. If I could show you what I see, you would be amazed. As a clinician it is my job to stay out of your way as you discover, heal, and grow. You are the expert of your life, not me. I know how much courage it takes to be willing to sit across from me in my office, especially on the first few times of coming. If it is a fear of being judged, I am not a judge. I sit in amazement at the strength and courage you have to be willing to do the work. The work to improve your life, your joy, your clarity. To let go of what holds you back and keeps you stuck. We are often afraid of being vulnerable but it is through vulnerability that we learn and connect to our most authentic self.
Best Regards,
Your therapist
